Privacy Policy

SpeakHuman ("we," "our," "the app") is developed and operated by Omar Hamzah, an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information SpeakHuman collects, how it's used, and what choices you have.

1. Who Can Use SpeakHuman

SpeakHuman is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a user under 16 has provided us with personal data, contact us at speak.hum4n@gmail.com and we will delete it.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address and password (stored securely; passwords are never stored in plain text).

Recorded video and audio: When you use SpeakHuman to practice speaking, you record a short video of yourself. This video (including its audio) is uploaded from your device to our servers so it can be analyzed.

Generated content: After analysis, SpeakHuman creates a transcript of your speech and a coaching report (covering things like posture, gestures, eye contact, filler words, and pacing). This generated content is stored so you can review your progress over time.

Basic technical data: Standard technical information such as app version and device type, used only to help us diagnose bugs and keep the app running.

We do not collect location data, contacts, or any information beyond what's needed to provide the coaching feature.

3. How Your Video and Audio Are Processed

To generate your coaching report, your recorded video and audio are processed by the following third-party AI services, acting on our behalf:

Google Gemini — analyzes your video for posture, gestures, eye contact, and facial expression. (Google Privacy Policy)
AssemblyAI — transcribes your speech and detects filler words and speaking pace. (AssemblyAI Privacy Policy)
Groq — combines the results from the above into your final written coaching report. (Groq Privacy Policy)

Your account data, transcripts, and coaching reports are stored using Supabase, our database provider. (Supabase Privacy Policy)

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies, linked above. We only send them what's necessary to generate your report — we do not sell or share your data with them for any other purpose, such as advertising or model training beyond what's disclosed in their own policies.

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

Raw video/audio recordings are deleted from our servers immediately after your coaching report is generated. Copies temporarily processed by our AI provider (Google Gemini) are automatically removed from their systems within 48 hours as part of their standard file handling, unless already deleted sooner.
Transcripts and coaching reports: We retain your 10 most recent coaching reports. When you generate a new report beyond your 10 most recent, the oldest report and its associated transcript are automatically deleted. There is currently no separate time-based expiration within this limit — if you generate fewer than 10 reports total, they may be retained indefinitely until you request deletion or delete your account.
Account information (email, password) is retained until you delete your account.

If you'd like your data deleted sooner than these timelines, email speak.hum4n@gmail.com and we will process your request promptly.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data or your account
Withdraw consent to processing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email speak.hum4n@gmail.com. We will respond as promptly as we can.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including secure transmission (encryption in transit) and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SpeakHuman evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
